MLS Tech Update- September 19, 2008

TIP#1

When performing a map search in MLXchange, the “Locator” button that was used to navigate to a specific address is no longer visible in the upper right of the map.

With the recent update to MLXchange, the “Locator” button has now become part of the panel of map tools in the upper left of the map. From that panel you can now pan the map and zoom in/out more efficiently.

TIP#2

Is it possible to email a display from MLXchange to my client that contains a map which they would be able to zoom in or out on?

Yes - if you send them a Customer Display, the address along the top of the display is now a hyperlink that opens to a Microsoft Virtual Earth map. On this map, your client is now able to pan and zoom as needed.

TIP#3

Is there a way to plan a route to drive to the properties found within my search results?

Yes, you can now plan your route for up to 10 properties with the following steps:

  1. Perform a search so that all of your desired properties are within the same set of results and view the search results.
  2. Check off the desired properties and click on the “directions” button towards the lower right.
  3. To enter your starting address, click the “Enter Address” button along the right side, enter your address and click “OK”
  4. Your starting address will now be included in your list of properties to plan your route
  5. Select your starting address and move it to the top of the list of properties by clicking the “move up” button along the right side, setting it as your starting point. Similarly, you can move the other properties up/down the same way to specify the order in which you want to visit those properties.
(NOTE: If you want one of the properties in your results to be the starting address you do not need to enter an address and can just move that property to the top of the list)
  6. Next, you can select any route options you may want such as “Shortest Time” or “Shortest Distance” via the “Route Options” drop down list along the bottom of the driving directions window.
  7. When you have completed selecting all desired options, simply click the “Get Directions” button towards the upper right corner of the window.
  8. From there you are able to print or email the directions via the “Print” and “Email” buttons towards the upper right corner of the page
