| ALS Association RI Chapter's 13th Annual Golf Tournament Monday, September 15, 2008 |
Join us for…The ALS Association RI Chapter's 13th Annual Golf Tournament Monday, September 15, at Quidnessett Country Club. The Texas Scramble Format starting @ $195 per Golfer/$780 Foursome includes: Lunch, Dinner, Putt for Cash Contest, Vegas Hole, Hole-in-One for Car, Raffle and Both a Silent & Live Auction!
The RI Chapter provides local programs and medical care to our neighbors battling this devastating disease for which there is no treatment or cure. ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a fatal neuromuscular disease that strikes young and old, all races and socioeconomic groups. The average life expectancy from diagnosis is just 2-5years. The Chapter’s annual golf tournament helps fund the needed services to improve the daily lives of ALS patients and families and supports research to find a cure. For more information on playing, sponsoring and/or volunteering, please contact Tony DelVecchio (a.delvechomes@verizon.net) to be part of another incredibly memorable day of golf!

| The Narragansett Bay Workcamp - June 29th - July 5, 2008 |
The Narragansett Bay Workcamp 2008 is the most recent example of an opportunity for parishioners to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of people in our surrounding communities. St. Bernard’s Parish in North Kingstown will be co-hosting the Workcamp, along with Group Workcamps Foundation located in Loveland, Colorado.
Group Workcamps Foundation, a 501 C3 organization, will be coordinating up to 400 youths and adults to volunteer their time, energy and resources to work on 50-70 homes in the South County area. This work is free to the residents. The Camp will be located at Davisville Middle School in North Kingstown, RI during the week of June 29th through July 5th. St. Bernard’s role as the host is to recruit volunteers, fundraise and identify the needy individuals whose homes could use our assistance.
